- Studying Life Effects and
Effectiveness of Palatopharyngoplasty

This study is enrolling patients with
obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome.
Symptoms of this syndrome may include:
snoring, choking or gasping during sleep,
recurrent awakenings from sleep, sleep that
is not refreshing, daytime fatigue, impaired
concentration, morning headaches. These
symptoms adversely affect health-related
quality of life issues for 2-4% of the
middle-aged population.
Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) is the most
common surgical treatment for obstructive
sleep apnea. The primary objective of this
study is to evaluate the effectiveness of
UPPP on sleep-apnea-related-patient's
quality of life and symptoms. |
